Description
The Holloway square headscarf is cut and finished in cotton voile and finished in brick rust. cut long, sewn in London, and photographed in the same concrete courtyard as the rest of the range.
How the garment is built
cotton voile. Panels are cut in single layers so the grain stays straight down a 150 cm length. Shoulders are stay-taped to stop a heavy skirt pulling the neckline out of shape. Sleeves are set with a small amount of ease at the head, then the armhole is bound rather than left raw, because a modest sleeve is worn all day and the seam sits against the arm. Necklines are faced with self cloth, never a fusible strip that can bubble after washing. Openings are either a concealed placket with covered snaps, a hand-finished button run, or a wrap with an inner tie plus an outer belt. Hems are double-turned: 2 cm on crepe and jersey, 4 cm on linen and twill so the extra weight helps the cloth drop cleanly.
Care
Hand wash cool or machine wash at 30C in a mesh bag, no fabric conditioner on jersey, dry flat, cool iron only, never wring.
